Monique & Lee's Winter Wedding

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Monique & Lee's wedding at Dollitle Hall at The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was truly a winter wonderland! We had a snowstorm the night before that continued into most of the wedding day. It made for a beautiful but cold backdrop. We were able to go outside for about 10 minutes for a few wedding party shots and a few portraits. With the dense fog and cold outside it made for very unique light! I love the deep blue and snow on the trees in the background.

Enjoy!

Winter Engagement Session

On Valentine's day I shot the engagement session for Nique & Simon who's wedding will be in April at The Sanctuary. This shoot was at Harlequin Plaza in the Denver Tech Center. We had been waiting for snow for this shoot and the night before we got it. I love the contrast between the glass buildings and all of the trees around Harlequin.

Why hire an experienced professional?

Your wedding story is the culmination of two lives coming together. Each bride and groom has chosen to trust each other with marriage, a very critical life decision. The wedding is a celebration of this trust. Once the wedding is over, the food and decorations are gone and the wedding day is a memory.

So a beautifully photographed wedding can be a way to relive the wedding day. With this in mind it is important to understand that photographing a wedding is a very skilled and technically demanding task. Professional photographers such as myself are very seasoned and prepared to capture your wedding memories. Sometimes couples elect to hire an amateur for a couple of hundred dollars or give the job to a uncle who has a good camera. A quality camera does not ensure that quality photographs can be taken.

I hear too often of couples who tell me that they regret letting a friend or amateur photograph their wedding. Your wedding happens once in a lifetime. For me, weddings happen nearly every Saturday and some Fridays and Sundays beginning May through October and have since 1995. Photography is a craft, art, and passion of mine and I take pride in making sure your wedding story is carefully captured. As a photographer I am constantly thinking 3 steps ahead during every moment of a wedding.

Lighting conditions, events, composition opportunities, interactions on a wedding day change quickly. A good camera cannot just take over and capture these fleeting moments accurately. 2000 snapshots are not the way to capture a wedding. A trained and seasoned wedding professional can capture the wedding day as it should.
